Project Meetings
4th-6th December 2021, Turkey

  • Participants: 2 members of each partner part of the implementation/ management teams

  • Short description: Members of the management team of the 8 partners met each other and created a team that will implement the project. All the planned activities were revised together with the project management plan. The participants analysed the activities and their objectives and agreed on the quality assurance activities. A main focus of the meeting was e-safety and how important it is to inform pupils about the dangers of the internet.

  • The main workflow of the meeting was:

Presentations of each of the Partners’ Organizations/Schools: Each Partner shared brief information about the school/organization they represent so that all partners get a first picture of the partnership.Performance by the kindergarten students, 1st, 2nd and 4th grade students.

A first visit in the school classrooms and signing of the two-party contracts between the coordinator and each of the partners. 

The Turkish Partner presented information about E-safety: She mentioned the necessity
of teaching our students how to use the internet in a way that does not threat their privacy
and suggested ways of shielding our students against the dangers of the web.

Presentation of the most important points of the project, mentioning both financial and organizational details. Things to be considered as well as next steps were also discussed.

Then the Romanian Partner informed all the partners about the tales and how they are going to implement them in their classrooms in order to facilitate cooperation between kindergarten and primary school teachers and students.

The Turkish Partner present information about E-safety: She mentioned the necessity of teaching our students how to use the internet in a way that does not threat their privacy and suggested ways of shielding our students against the dangers of the web.

Presentations of E-twinning, School Education Gateway and Erasmus+ Project Results Platform: More particularly she stressed the importance of using all these applications during the project for achieving a high evaluation of our project.

Good transition practices implemented in each partner-country: Each partner shared techniques and ideas that are most widely used in order to prepare their students to smoothly move from kindergartens to primary schools. They all mentioned the most important points of their educational systems.

Learning and Teaching and Training

Transition Activities in SCHOLE PROJETO 

February 10th-14th 2020, Portugal

 

This activity enabled the educators to apply a new learning approach that may ease the transition of children between preschool to primary school. The Learning Activity led participants to be able to:
– explore the project-based learning approach and the inter connection with the transition between the two levels of education
– understand the full potential of applying a transversal learning approach in the learning environment
– understand the full potential of the pedagogy of play in children’s education
Participants explored the learning environment of SCHOLE understanding the role of each space and the daily routines of the school. Additionally, participants participated in activities to know more about each other, share expectations and needs regarding this LTT. They will be presented and explored the learning approach used transversely in the school (from preschool to primary school level). 
Participants attended in playful activities used in SCHOLE as part of the curricular learning activities. Participants explored the potential of playful activities to better understand the needs of children at cognitive, social and emotional levels.

 Transition in Greek schools

September, 27 th – 30 th 2021, Online

The activity took place in September 2021 instead of April 2022. The travel restrictions caused by the pandemic has made the consortium postpone and rearrange the initially planned LTTAs. For this reason, this LTTA was realized virtually. However, the main aim of the LTTA remained the same - that is, the Transition Practices applied in Greek schools.
 

Teachers in both kindergartens and primary schools presented the practices they implement in their schools in order to help students adapt to the new environment. There were virtual visits to schools of the area. There were discussions among the hosting schools and the partner colleagues.

Activities of the LTTA:

Presentation of the Greek Education system while participants were introduced on the main aspects of Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Education

Presentations of the questionnaire results of Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and
Turkey.
Questionnaires were distributed for the needs of the project in order to investigate and record the most popular transition practices that are used in all partner countries.

Presentations of the interview results of Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Italy and Turkey.
Interviews were implemented in order to validate the questionnaire results and offer a more qualitative aspect in the research.

Presentation of the transition programme applied in the Kindergarten of Glyki in
cooperation with the Primary school of Glyki the previous school year.

Environment was selected as the primary topic of the transition program, and teachers showed activities like joint trips, lessons, indoor and outdoor activities. Participants made very positive comments on the work done by both students and teachers of both schools and emphasized the importance of collaboration between teachers of both educational levels.

Presentations of the transition practices that are used in the schools of Paramythia. In particular, the 1st and 2nd kindergartens and the 1st Primary school of Paramythia shared with all the participants the work done by students and teachers.

The 2nd Primary school of Igoumenitsa in cooperation with the Special Needs Primary school and the 5th Kindergarten of Igoumenitsa created a video with all their transition activities as well as a video with a virtual tour inside the schools

  • Live talks among students and a virtual tour of the primary school

  •  Partners also saw the facilities of the schools through videos and PowerPoint presentations

Vertical Education in Italian Schools

October 25th – 29th 2021

The activity took place in October 2021 instead of October 2020 due to travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The aim of the LTTA is partners to get to know the Italian Education system and the Transition Practices implemented in Istituto Comprensivo “Egnazio Danti”.

Transition activities in “Egnazio Danti”

Due to the pandemic, most activities were designed and implemented via online tools. Some of the activities: joint lessons, such as narrations of fairytales to other classes and creations of drawings for the fairytales.

Guided tour in the primary school “Felice Cataldi” and in “Mole Bisleti” kindergarten 


Presentation of the Italian Education system

Online storytelling activities and drawings. Students of both kindergartens and primary schools narrated the fairytales to the partners and to students of other classes via Zoom.

Dog therapy classes with kindergarten pupils. Dogs are used as a way to provide comfort and support for students at school.

Vertical Curriculum in Italian schools

The vertical continuity includes actions, situations of constant institutional
connection, which involves adults in various educational and training contexts

 

Collaboration between the teachers / educators in terms of mutual exchange of information

There is a great variety of experiences in the field of vertical
continuity, with consolidated projects between kindergarten schools and primary schools.

 

Craiova, Romania
Report and final discussions about plurilingual fairy tales book

The meeting had a mixed character. Due to the aggravation of the health situation, some partners could not attend the meeting in person, so they participated in the meeting online (via ZOOM). The partners shared the work done so far and focused on traditional stories.

During the meeting, the following workshops took place:

-Workshop I – Traditional fairy tales and stories for children

-Workshop II – Fairy tales. Individual work of partners on the translation of their tales and the conformity of content with language

-Workshop III – Presentation of movies realized for integrating fairy tales in teaching

-Workshop IV – Drafts of a methodology and units of study on grades. Next steps of the project

 

Participants had the opportunity to visit the Scoala Gimnasiala Grozesti school and attend best practice lessons related to school transition. In addition, they met with colleagues and exchanged information, ideas and experiences. All participants visited places representative of traditional fairy tales and stories and traditional villages in the surrounding area.

The TPM had a mixed character.

Points discussed and decisions the consortium have made: 

 

-The 2nd Interim Report has been submitted.
 

-Article on Transition Practices. Each partner organization/school is requested to write an article on the most common transition practices implemented in their own countries.


​-Etwinning activities. The consortium starts the etwinning activities in schools.

-Involve kindergarten and primary school students in activities.


-The consortium has set the dates for the following meetings:

           LTTA in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, 16th-20th May 2022
           Final TPM in Igoumenitsa, Greece, 1st – 3rd June 2022


 

TRANSITIONS PRACTICES IN GRANADA, SPAIN 
28th - 01st April 2022

The aim of the LTTA: to get to know the Spanish Education system and the Transition Practices implemented in differents schools in Granada. 

-Learning about learning communities in Spain: Everybody takes part in the management processes of the centre and in the development of the students' learning

LTTA

TRANSITIONS PRACTICES IN Pazardzhik, Bulgaria

The project week started on 16.05.2022 with a tour of the kindergarten in Pazardzhik.
Afterwards, a seminar was held with the lecturer Associate Professor Dr. Elena Sabeva, Head of the Department of Preschool Pedagogy and the University of Plovdiv. The Head of the Director for the Education and Culture in Pazardzhik Municipality was also present at this meeting.

The next day started with another visit to the kindergarten. Afterwards, the Bulgarian
school system and common transition practices were presented. In the afternoon, we visited a primary school and then went on to see some of the sights of Pazardzhik.

We ended the evening with an official dinner together. Wednesday was the social programme day. We visited the Damascena Ethnographic Complex, the home of roses, and in the afternoon we were allowed to bake bread with our own hands.

On  Thursday we went to Plovdiv. There we visited a Montessori kindergarten, which gave us a very exciting insight into a somewhat different system.

 


Thanks to all the project team, it has been an unforgettable meeting!
